报告摘要： Subgroup actions on homogeneous spaces of Lie groups exhibit rich structures. The investigation of such actions from the dynamical viewpoint, also known as homogeneous dynamics, has been a central topic in dynamical systems and is closely related to number theory. In this talk, we will discuss problems and results concerning special kinds of orbits of such actions and their relations with Diophantine approximation. We will pay special attention to the case where the space is SL(n,R)/SL(n,Z).

报告人简介：Jinpeng An is a professor of mathematics at Peking University. He received PhD from Peking University in 2006. His research interest includes Lie theory, dynamics of group actions, and related problems in geometry and number theory.
